I was lying on a hospital bed,
Anxious, happy, hopeful and restless.
My eyes were wrapped with a bandage
To heal the ravage,
Done by that drunk driver,
All colors merged in to one called black but still I was survivor,
Then One day hope belled my door,
I couldn’t have asked for more.
Somebody wanted to give her eyes so that I can see the color
blue, red, white and amber.
So here I am asking my mother,
to read the letter.
The letter which was delivered through the doctor,
The letter inked by that unknown donor
I wanted to live, coz I loved my life,
I won’t blame destiny, coz I have no regret, no strife,
But I can’t fight this cancer any more,
I had to leave everyone I adore.
But a wish inside me could never die,
I wanna see my daughter always smile
So now you have my eyes,
Through which I used to see her every day and every night
I just wanna see her
this is the last wish of a mother.”
The doctor was slowly unfurling the bandage
I was getting born again, with a new age
He asked me whom I want to see foremost
I smiled and whispered something in his ear lobe.
I slowly opened my eyes,
She was a cute little princess, with big eyes, curly hairs, a pure delight,
She was the amalgamation of love filled past and a future hopeful and bright,
I fell in love with her at first sight.
